Abinaya Selvam, founder of Happy High Pictures.
Long before the first clap of Oh My Kadavule, Abinaya Selvam sat through a narration by a first-time director named Ashwath Marimuthu: a story about a marriage, a stranger who says he is God, and a second chance. She and her brother, actor Ashok Selvan, decided to back it themselves. Happy High Pictures was born. Six years on, the studio's second film, Anbil Avan, is playing across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, and talks are on for Hindi and Telugu versions.

Over 6,658 shows and ₹8.09 crore in India gross, per Sacnilk. Director R. Kaarthikeyan's debut was so personal for its star that Ashok Selvan revealed he had pledged his father's property to fund it, and promised that whenever his face is on a poster, he will have given it 100 per cent.
